(2) Application

Tempered glass has good mechanical properties and thermal stability, and is commonly used as doors, windows, partitions, curtain walls, display windows, furniture, etc. in buildings. However, tempered glass cannot be cut or ground during use, and edges and corners cannot be impacted or squeezed. It needs to be selected according to existing size specifications or specific design drawings for processing and customization. The degree of toughening of glass used for large area glass curtain walls should be controlled, and it is advisable to choose semi tempered glass (i.e., if not fully tempered, its internal stress is relatively small) to avoid self explosion caused by vibration caused by wind load. For semi tempered glass used in buildings with a nominal thickness of not less than 4mm, the position and aperture of the openings on it should comply with the national standard "Semi Tempered Glass" (GB/T17841).
