    Tempered glass is ubiquitous in daily life,and how to effectively improve the yield of tempered glass is a concern for glass deep processing enterprises.


    Among them,the tempering furnace is a key link,let's highlight the key points together.


    Adjust the process parameters of the tempering furnace


    Before tempering,adjust the process parameters of the tempering furnace.The key parameters include heating temperature,heating time,and wind pressure.


    The temperature and time of tempering heating are inversely proportional,and the higher the temperature,the shorter the heating time.


    However,when tempered with glass over 12mm,if the furnace temperature is too high,it is easy to cause furnace explosion.Of course,there are many reasons for furnace explosion,but setting the furnace temperature too high is the main reason.Therefore,it is recommended to set the furnace temperature at around 665℃and extend the heating time appropriately when tempered with glass over 12mm.


    After determining the temperature,it is necessary to choose a reasonable heating time.Generally,the heating time per millimeter is about 40 seconds.However,an additional 10%heating time is required when tempering large plate glass,and an additional 10%heating time is also required when tempering perforated and angled glass.


    Dialectically mastering the heating time and temperature is very important,and it is also the key to improving the yield of tempered glass.


    Tempering wind pressure is one of the most important parameters in the tempering process,and it has a direct impact on the degree and effect of glass tempering.


    On the one hand,the tempering wind pressure should be determined based on the thickness of the glass.The thinner the glass,the higher the requirement for tempering wind pressure.Setting too much tempering wind pressure can lead to an increase in the self explosion rate of the glass;On the other hand,it should also be determined based on the color of the glass,the opening and grooving status of the glass.


    Heating of large plate glass should be uniform


    Glass is actually a cube with 4 sides and 6 faces.The heating of the upper and lower surfaces of the glass is relatively slow,and when toughening large plate glass,the middle of the glass often experiences the slowest heating.


    Sometimes the tempered glass will form a pot shape(especially for large platen glass that is close to a square),which is caused by the heating of the edges being too fast and the heating in the middle being too slow.That is,after heating is completed,the temperature at the edges of the glass is much higher than that in the middle of the glass.


    To achieve uniform heating of large glass panels,it is best to set the temperature of the furnace to a heating curve(horizontal),with the middle temperature 10 degrees higher than the set temperature and the edge temperature 10 degrees lower than the set temperature.


    In fact,I still want to tell everyone that choosing a good tempering furnace can achieve twice the result with half the effort.

    Glass must undergo edge grinding before tempering


    The quality of glass edging plays a decisive role in the yield of tempered products.When cutting glass,small and fine cracks may be left at the edges,which may not be visible to the naked eye.Glass that has undergone edge grinding treatment is less prone to breakage during tempering and is more aesthetically pleasing.


    Glass that needs to be drilled and angled for tempering


    Tempered glass cannot be drilled or chamfered,so it must be treated before tempering,and the following points need to be noted when drilling:


    1.The aperture should be greater than or equal to the thickness of the glass;


    2.The distance between the hole edge and the glass edge should be greater than or equal to twice the thickness of the glass;


    3.The distance between two holes,the distance between the hole edge and the hole edge,is greater than or equal to twice the thickness of the glass.
